1번 지문

How creative are you? To find out, try to answer a very simple question.

You may think that the question has only one answer and say “4.” If you think outside the box, however, you will realize that there may be more than one answer, like this:

Or like this:

Every day we face a lot of questions. We often try to find one correct answer. However, there can be many different answers. Your answers depend on how you view the questions. Throughout the ages, many people have shaped human history by viewing things differently and thus developing ideas that were unique and useful. One such person was Johannes Gutenberg. In Gutenberg's world, two devices were in common use: the wine press and the coin punch. The first one pressed grapes to make wine, and the other made images on coins. One day, Gutenberg playfully asked himself: “What if I took a bunch of these coin punches and put them under the wine press so that they left images on paper?” In the end, his idea of linking the two devices led to the birth of the modern printing press. This changed history forever.

2번 지문

Gutenberg did not pull his idea out of thin air. He knew about the two devices of his era. He knew how they worked and what they could do. In other words, the roots of the invention were already there. What Gutenberg did was view the two devices in a new way and combine them. In this way, Gutenberg exemplifies what the modern inventor Steve Jobs noted, “Creativity is just connecting things.” Creative thinking was also behind Josephine Cochrane's invention of the modern dishwasher. Before her time, people used to place dishes in a dishwasher, add water, and let scrubbers clean the dishes. There was a problem, though. The scrubbers sometimes badly damaged dishes. Cochrane approached the process of dishwashing differently. She used water itself―water pressure―instead of scrubbers. She thought that high water pressure would do the job of scrubbers and damage the dishes less. Her machine, which pumped hot, soapy water onto dishes, became successful in restaurants and, later, in homes. This example again shows that creativity is the result of thinking differently.

3번 지문

Can we learn to think differently or more creatively like these famous inventors? Luckily, the answer is “yes.” Creative thinking is a skill, and we can improve it. To think more creatively, look for many possible answers, not just one. Ask yourself, “What if...?” or say to yourself, “Imagine ...” Also, do not be afraid of making mistakes. When you do make mistakes, try to learn from them. As Albert Einstein once said, “Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” Most importantly, do not forget that creativity is based on knowledge and experience. You need to keep learning new things. That way, you will have the tools for creativity. Who can imagine Shakespeare without his understanding of poetry or Beethoven without his ability to play the piano?

1번 지문

I felt nervous and worried because I was about to jump into a completely new world. All my best friends and I had hoped to go to the same high school, but I was the only one who would attend a different one. I was not sure if I could adapt to the new environment. I was on the phone with my friends till late. We talked about what life in high school would be like, and I hardly slept at all. The next morning I got up late and was late for school. The homeroom teacher looked very strict, and all my new classmates looked unfriendly. Even worse, I brought the wrong textbooks and I could not concentrate in class because I had not slept enough. At the end of the day, the homeroom teacher assigned each of us a locker. I got locker number thirteen! I have always hated this number. I thought my high school life would not be easy. When I opened the locker, I found a small notebook with some words written on the cover: “To an Unknown Freshman.” I felt curious and opened the notebook.

2번 지문

Hello. You must be nervous and worried about how to survive your first year of high school, right? That is exactly how I felt on my first day, so I made this as my final term project in English class. I hope it will help you make the most of your high school years.

Top Four Tips

⦁ Get enough sleep. If you do, you can stay fully awake and concentrate better in class.

⦁ Learn to say no. Sometimes things will keep you from focusing on your studies, but you have to learn to say no to them to be a successful student.

⦁ Ask questions. Confucius once said, “The man who asks a question is a fool for a minute, but the man who does not ask is a fool for life.”

⦁ Remain humble and open-minded. When someone gives you advice, listen to it and follow it if it makes sense.

3번 지문

When I started high school, I was caught up in popularity contests. I often spent all my pocket money buying snacks for my classmates. To make friends with the “cool kids,” I often acted as if I were the kind of person they wanted me to be. I was afraid to show my true self. However, it did not take long to learn that all the effort was useless. When I was in the hospital for two weeks, not one of the kids I had tried to impress visited me. To my surprise, the two quiet boys I had barely talked to came and cheered me up. I learned an important lesson: pretending to be someone else does you no good. It is better to be yourself and show your true colors. High school is more than just schoolwork, so find your interests and pursue them by joining school clubs. This offers many benefits. For instance, club activities can relieve stress from schoolwork. They also help you meet people who share the same interests and make it easier to become friends with them. Moreover, some of these new friends may be students from the upper grades who can tell you how to deal with classes and teachers. You could instantly learn tips that took them a year to learn.

4번 지문

Here is a poem that I would like to share with you.

I hope you keep its message in mind: high school happens only once, so try to stay positive and make the most of it. Good luck!

Life is like a piece of art.

Don't be afraid. Follow your heart.

Choose your paint and your brush.

Take your time; avoid the rush.

As I closed the notebook, I felt warm and confident. Thank you, my secret mentor!

5번 지문

Do you know how the word “mentor” has come to refer to a person who gives a younger or less experienced person help and advice? The word originates from Homer's Odyssey. Odysseus, King of Ithaca, had to leave home to fight in the Trojan War. Before he left, he asked an old, wise, trusted friend, Mentor, to take care of his son, Telemachus. While King Odysseus was away, Mentor was a friend and a teacher to Telemachus. Thus, Telemachus grew up to be a fine young man. After the war, King Odysseus tried to return home, but he was forced to wander for years. Athena, Goddess of War, assumed the form of Mentor and appeared to Telemachus. She performed the same role as Mentor. With the help of Athena, Telemachus was able to protect himself in times of difficulty and succeed in finding his father.

2015년 개정 영어 비상(홍민표) 2과 변형 문제

더메이킹스(TheMakings)가 제작한 2015년 개정 영어 비상(홍민표) 2과의 지문입니다.

1번 지문

Wide pants, a striped shirt, a baseball cap: walk down the street and you'll see what's in fashion. Teens, like adults, tend to follow popular trends. That's fine if you're happy with the current style, but you can also create your own style if you're not. Think of Steve Jobs, and a figure of a man wearing a black shirt and blue jeans might pop into your head. Likewise, you can showcase your own charm and individuality with your own unique style, which can become a part of your personal image: a signature style. Here are some tips from three teenage fashion leaders on how to experiment and find your own style.

2번 지문

What is your favorite color? Do you often wear fashion items in that color? As for me, my favorite color is green, but I felt it did not go well with my skin tone, so I used to avoid wearing it. One day, I realized that green has many shades, so I experimented with various shades of green and eventually, I found that a deep green helps me look great. If you like a certain color, you can try various shades like I did, and find one that suits you.

Once you decide on a color, you may discover the color wheel useful to find other colors that go well together. There are three simple ways to use the color wheel: combining analogous colors, choosing complementary colors, and mixing together analogous and complementary colors.

Combining analogous colors is one of the easiest ways of matching colors that will give you an elegant look, for example, a yellow shirt on top of green pants. Choosing complementary colors, like wearing a green skirt with red shoes, creates a bold impression. Choosing a mixture of analogous and complementary colors together, called split complementary colors, can be tricky but results in a calmer look than a combination of complementary colors. Unless your signature style is to wear colors that clash, using the color wheel will help you choose colors that are natural and pleasing to the eye.

The color wheel

1. Analogous colors

Pick one color on the color wheel, skip one, and choose the next one.

2. Complementary colors

Select two colors on opposite sides of the color wheel.

3. Split complementary colors

Choose two analogous colors and the complementary color of the one that is found between them.

3번 지문

I spend a lot of time at school in my uniform, so I don't pay too much attention to what I wear. But there is one thing I often wear outside of school: a black striped shirt. It's very casual with a simple design. I like to wear it under a denim shirt, a leather jacket, or a cardigan. Putting on clothes in layers like this keeps my style fresh even though I don't have a lot of clothes. Mixing and matching clothes is a lot of fun! My point is: If you have a favorite fashion item, and it goes well with your other clothes, you can create a new outfit every single day.

4번 지문

One of the simplest ways to develop your own style is to pay attention to accessories like shoes, hats, glasses, or watches. I spend a lot of time choosing my eye glasses because they can be an important part of my look. When I choose frames, I think of my face shape. Since my face is rather angular, I usually choose round frames. If your face is round, however, you may look better in angular or square frames. Here's another important tip. People tend to make purchasing decisions about frames in terms of material or color, but not many think about their eyebrows. Eyebrows can be so expressive, and covering them with your frames may hide the feelings you express, eventually making you look strict.

BEFORE

The frames cover the eyebrows, making him look strict.

AFTER

The frames do not cover the eyebrows, making him look less strict.

Homin: Jinho invited me to his magic show the other day. He performed wonderful card tricks in front of a huge audience. I am envious of him as he has a plan for his future dream of becoming a professional magician. He watches magic performance shows almost every day and keeps practicing magic tricks until he can perform them perfectly. He has set his mind on studying psychology in college as magic basically deals with people's minds. I wish I had a plan for my future.

Eunseo: Why don't you visit the career development office? You can get some important information from the office. Here's what I received from them.

2번 지문

To make the right career choice, you have to learn about yourself first. Your values, interests, and personality will make some careers more suitable for you and others less appropriate. You can use self-assessment tests, often called career tests, to better understand yourself. Free career tests are available at our office. If the career test results are not clear and don't solve the problem, don't give up. A hobby you really enjoy can be an important part of choosing a career.

5 Steps to Make a Career Choice

STEP 1 Take a career test

STEP 2 Make a list of jobs

STEP 3 Get information about the jobs

STEP 4 Narrow down the list

STEP 5 Learn more about the jobs

Now, you should make a list of occupations based on your self-assessment test results. For each job on your list, you should do some careful research in order to learn about the occupation's educational requirements, outlook, and earnings potential. After researching, you can eliminate careers in which you are no longer interested. At this point you may only have two or three occupations left on your list. You now have to gather more in-depth information from people who have first-hand knowledge. You should identify who they are and conduct interviews with them or ask them for a job-shadowing opportunity.

If you are still not sure, don't worry. Get yourself involved in various activities that you enjoy and do your best today. Your best possible future will unfold when you make today the best it can be.

3번 지문

.

I am a music lover, so yesterday I job-shadowed my uncle who is a music producer at X-Music. I left home very excited. Not only was I getting the day off of school, but I was also getting a chance to see in person how a music album is made.

The studio was full of the latest equipment, whose size and complexity amazed me. My uncle gave me a short explanation of the equipment. He also explained what needs to be done to create an album, from planning the album to arranging, recording, and editing the music. More than half of what he said sounded like a foreign language to me.

We headed to the recording booth, where two singers were recording music for their rock band. Outside of the booth, the composer and a technician were waiting for us. My uncle sat down in the middle next to the composer when the recording started. It didn't take long, however, until it was stopped by my uncle, then by the composer and the technician. They didn't like this or that about the music and had the singers repeat the same line again and again, all of which sounded perfect to me. When everyone got exhausted, my uncle cheered them up with occasional funny stories. It took a whole day to finish one song!

My day at X-Music helped me realize that love of music is not the only thing required to become a music producer: patience, leadership, and communication skills on top of a good ear for music are important skills to learn, too. I'll have to come up with a plan to develop these skills.

4번 지문

I'm Cathy Carter. I taste chocolate and evaluate its quality, telling good chocolate from bad, faulty chocolate. The evaluation process begins with smelling samples and breaking them to see if they sound crisp. Old or improperly stored chocolate doesn't make a crisp sound. Then comes the actual tasting. I put a small piece into my mouth, press it lightly against the roof of my mouth, and wait until it melts. Then I breathe out through my nose to identify the smell. I always record everything like smells, sounds, tastes, and textures on a computer.

As a chocolate taster, the most important part of my job is keeping my mouth objective. I have to keep my mouth ready and lively so that my evaluation may be as objective as possible. Since I taste an average of thirty samples a day, one should not affect the taste of another. As soon as one is done, I spit it back out and wait for a while. Then I eat a cracker and drink some warm water to get my senses back.

For those who want to become chocolate tasters, I would say love of chocolate is not all it takes to succeed. Keen observation skills and a good understanding of basic concepts of chemistry are required, and a degree in Food Technology is recommended.

The duck was confident in swimming but was relatively poor in the other three subjects, so he devoted himself to improving his climbing, flying, and running through extra practice. However, as hard as he tried, he could not climb with his wings or run with his webbed feet as a disadvantage. Eventually, his feet got so badly worn out that he dropped to only average in swimming. The rabbit accelerated quickly in running but had a hard time because she was so concerned about flying. No matter how hard the rabbit practiced, flying was impossible for her. She eventually failed in the final flying exam. What do you think about the Animal School? Do you think the school would help their students learn? People are all unique and have a different way of learning. Nevertheless, the Animal School educates their pupils to follow the same unified curriculum. For example, instead of concentrating on the eagle's advantage of flying as a bird, the school confines the eagle within strict rules, which results in a negative outcome. As we all know, flying is the most efficient and specialized attribute of the eagle. Likewise, we all have our own preferences and strengths. By using our characteristics, we will be able to study in an effective way. Scholars have studied these various strengths and preferences of people and classified them into several different categories which are called "Learning Preferences."

2번 지문

The cat was not admitted to the Animal School because she could not pass the swimming admission test. During the examination, the cat was too afraid of drowning to go into the lake. When the cat was not admitted to the school, she complained to the school council and requested jumping be added to the curriculum. This caused a hot debate among the parent committee and students. The rabbit and cat argued that jumping should replace swimming. On the contrary, the duck thought swimming was an important subject as the original program suggested. In the climbing class, the eagle beat all the others to the top of the tree by flying. As fast as the eagle was, he was told not to fly, but to climb up again. He insisted that he be able to use his own way of getting there, but he was instructed not to fly. When the eagle failed to climb, he became so depressed and frustrated that he lost interest in school altogether. Learning preferences are the common ways that people learn. Your learning preferences have more influence than you may realize because your preferred interests guide the way you learn. By recognizing your own learning preferences, you can use learning skills that are ideal for you. These skills will also improve the speed and quality of your learning. To do this, it is essential for you to identify which preference fits you best. Read the following descriptions of seven learning preferences and determine your own preference.

Seven Learning Preferences

• Visual preference: a preference for using pictures and spatial understanding

• Individual preference: a preference for concentrating alone and learning through self-study

• Musical preference: a preference for using sound, music, rhythms, recordings, and clever rhymes

• Physical preference: a preference for using our body to learn such as role playing or using physical objects

• Social preference: a preference for learning in groups or with other people

• Logical preference: a preference for using logic, reasoning, and systems to understand concepts

• Verbal preference: a preference for using linguistic skills both in speech and writing to assist their learning

3번 지문

Once you have identified your learning preferences, you are advised to activate those domains through specific techniques. If you are a musical learner, you can make a song to memorize the content. For a social person, discussing concepts with others will help you recall ideas. However, if you fail to use the style that fits you, it is unlikely that you will be able to do your best work. The rabbit was excellent in running, but no matter how hard the rabbit tried to fly, she failed. Likewise, students with a physical preference for learning may not learn well in a lecture-styled class. Preferences are varied and there is no right mix. Once you acknowledge your preferences, you should further enhance the styles of learning that you use well. Then, attempt to work on your less developed ones. In conclusion, you should recognize that people may have different learning preferences as well as different talents. Most of us have a different balance of preferences and we should not be criticized for our differences because every single one of us is equally important. That is why even when you feel like you are falling behind in one area compared to others, you must not be discouraged. As frustrated as you may be when you try to improve your less competent areas, that is not the way forward. You must put emphasis on improving your superior strengths. The key to success is recognizing and appreciating your own strengths and not losing confidence in yourself no matter how hard it is. It is crucial to keep in mind that life is like a long race. Develop your talents and refuse to give up before you pass the finish line. There are so many things you can accomplish and overcome when you stick to it. Don't ever forget: you may not become the best in the group but you can certainly become the best that you can be.

1번 지문

Try paying close attention to someone when he or she is feeling sad and depressed. Chances are that this person is slouching with his or her neck and shoulders curved forward and his or her head looking down. What does this tell us? Well, it shows that your emotional state can reflect itself in your posture. What about the other way around? Does your posture affect your emotional state? Before we try to answer that question, let's take a quick look at Ms. Roberts' drama class. Ms. Roberts asked her students to stand in pairs staring into each other's eyes. She also asked them to close their jaws tightly together and make tight fists with their hands. After a few minutes, she asked them how they felt. Nearly all of them were angry. Ms. Roberts then asked the students to relax the muscles in their jaws and hands, stand tall, and smile. It didn't take long for her class to start feeling much happier. "People think that acting is pretending to be something," said Ms. Roberts, "but all good actors know a secret. If you change your posture and the expression on your face, you begin to change the way you feel. You don't have to try to pretend to be happy or sad. By copying the posture of a person who is experiencing those emotions, you actually start to feel them. They become real." Ms. Roberts is teaching her students more than just drama. She is teaching them how to manage and control their feelings by changing their posture. There is a strong relationship between your mind and your body. Your emotions influence the way your body reacts, and your posture also affects your mind. That's why people say "happiness leads to smiling, but smiling also leads to happiness." Next time you're feeling a bit depressed, sit up straight, smile, and see what happens.

2번 지문

1. Good posture helps you reduce back and neck pain.

Slouching, on the other hand, can strain your muscles and put stress on your spine. It has been reported that people who suffer from back pain experience positive changes when they improve their posture.

2. Maintaining good posture also does wonders for your appearance.

Have you ever gotten an unfavorable impression of someone, even before he or she has said or done anything? He or she probably just had bad posture. It is the opposite for people with good posture. They not only look taller, but also more attractive and even smarter.

3. Good posture is also good for your self-confidence.

Amy Cuddy, a social psychologist, recommends what she calls the "Wonder Woman" pose. In this pose, you stand with your feet apart, your hands on your hips, and your chin lifted. She has found that this pose helps increase feelings of power and decrease feelings of anxiety. She suggests doing this pose for two minutes before a presentation or interview to help increase your confidence and your ability to handle stress. Good posture doesn't just display your confidence — it can actually produce it!

4. Last but not least, good posture can help improve your concentration and memory.

Keeping your posture upright helps open up your airways, allowing more oxygen to flow through your lungs. Your blood is then able to carry sufficient oxygen to your whole body. This helps your nervous system, organs, and other tissues function more effectively. So good posture naturally enables you to breathe properly, and this can enhance your mental function.

3번 지문

Now stop and check your posture! How are you sitting? Are you slouched over or sitting upright? We have seen several benefits of good posture. To take advantage of these benefits, you should make good posture a part of your everyday life. One way to do this is to imagine that a string coming from the top of your head is pulling you gently up towards the ceiling. Try practicing this for a few minutes each day. Good posture doesn't happen overnight; it is a gradual process. But the good news is that it is never too late to start. With consistent effort, you can improve your posture. You might just improve your overall quality of life, too!

"One Size Doesn't Fit All"

What will it be like when I get old? Will getting around and doing things be difficult? The industrial designer Patricia Moore once asked herself these very questions as a young woman. When she was just 26 years old, Moore dressed like an 80-year-old woman and handicapped herself with weights and blurred glasses to find answers. After traveling around North America like that for three years, she understood the difficulties the elderly face in our modern society and thus set to work designing products and services that would simplify life for our senior citizens. I admire Moore in that she dedicated herself to a particular problem and really sacrificed in order to find a solution. Would I do the same to help others in need? I certainly don't want to get to the end of my life and say, "I wish I had done more to help people." Moore's dedication has given me ideas about how I might be of service to others. My resolution: See the world through others' eyes.

"To Dare Is to Do, to Fear Is to Fail"

I came across these words from a famed explorer John Goddard a few weeks ago. When he was just 15 years old, Goddard realized the importance of setting concrete life goals. So he wrote down 127 specific aims and, during his life, accomplished 109 of them. When asked about his motivation for writing this "Life List," he said that all the adults he knew seemed to complain that they hadn't accomplished things when they were younger. "They had let life slip by them," he said. "I was sure that if I planned for my future, I could have a life of excitement, fun, and knowledge." So what are my life goals? Are some of my goals more of a priority than others? There's no question that I have a bunch of things I want to accomplish in life, but where do I even start? Like Goddard, I need to be specific about goals, and I should write them down.

Goddard's Life List

• Visit the North and South Poles.

• Travel the Nile, Amazon, and Congo.

• Study native African medicines.

• Learn French and Spanish.

• Write a book.

• Build a telescope.

• Read the Encyclopaedia Britannica.

3번 지문

More importantly, I need to be brave enough to dare to do the things on my list, and this will certainly require me to leave my comfort zone. Well, first things first. It's time to write out my list. First of all, I want to become a genetic engineer and develop tools and methods that might be used to treat rare diseases. I know the goal in and of itself is daunting and involves much effort and many complicated steps. I wish I had set the goal earlier, but I still have plenty of time to accomplish this. Anyway, I'm glad that I came up with the very first goal on my life list. So what's the next step? The most practical thing would be to think about successive objectives leading to the ultimate goal. For example, I could study biology in university and then, during the summers, I could do a work-study program at a genetic research lab. By the time I finish that, I will have learned the basics of genetic engineering.

My Life List

1. Study biology in university.

2. Read Les Mise'rables in French.

3. Swim across the Hangang.

4. Get a bus driver's license

4번 지문

"Keeping Hope Alive"

I believe that the luckiest people in the world owe a debt to those who are not so fortunate. By this, I mean that people like me, who are lucky enough to receive a good education, have loving parents, and live in a relatively safe country, ought to get out into the world and actively help the poor and the sick. Dr. Hawa Abdi proved herself to be a woman of action when she passed up a life of luxury to help the ill and the dispossessed in her country. In 1983, when Somalia's government collapsed, Abdi was running a successful medical clinic in her country's capital, Mogadishu. She could have escaped and lived comfortably overseas, but she decided to stay and make a difference. She established a hospital and refuge on her family's land.

5번 지문

One day, rebels tried to take over her hospital, but "Mama Hawa" outstared the rebels. Soon, they left in shame. She picked herself up from this setback to continue healing, feeding, educating, and caring for her people. I am beginning an ambitious life journey. By the end, I will have experienced many setbacks and obstacles which will have helped me grow. The lesson I should learn from Dr. Hawa's story is that each obstacle must be met with courage and determination. There are people right here in my country, right now, who also need help. I believe I have certain skills and abilities that are unique to me, and that can benefit society if I develop them further. Through education, I need to refine these skills for the good of the maximum number of people. This is the beginning of my life of service.

My resolutions

• Expect obstacles and prepare for them.

• Have the courage to do what is right.

You Are Cordially Invited!

FRIDAY, MAY 17

D-14 Starting a discussion about theClass Event Day

Our school has a Class Event Day once a year. Today we had a class meeting and discussed what we would do for the Class Event Day this year. We were talking about the food we would make as we did the previous year and I immediately got bored. What difference does it make? It's just a meal.

Just then, Jiwon raised his hand and suggested doing a class project in which we express gratitude to the people who work for us. He named it A Day to Express Gratitude. This was unheard of! He did not have a specific plan, but many of us were interested. We spent some time thinking about people who deserved extra thanks. Somin said that we need to identify the hidden heroes in our school — the people who dedicate each day to making our school a better place. We could not come to a conclusion before the bell rang.

MONDAY, MAY 20

D-11 Looking for hidden heroes in our school

During lunch break, we discussed whom to thank. Jiwon said, "What about holding an event for the crossing guard?" Yeri said, "I recommend the repair person who usually fixes all the appliances in our school." I added, "I want to express gratitude to the food service workers. They're in charge of cooking and serving our lunch every day. There are about 700 students in our school and I don't think it's easy to prepare such a large amount of food."

Some students wanted to hold an event for every hidden hero, but that was unrealistic. We decided to narrow down the candidates. We argued for a while and everyone agreed to accept the majority decision. Almost all of my classmates chose the food service workers!

3번 지문

WEDNESDAY, MAY 22

D-9 Talking about what to do

We talked about what we needed for our class event. We agreed to write a thank-you card for the food service workers. Also, we thought it would be nice to make some food for them because they always cook for us. Yeri quickly said she would make sandwiches with some friends. "But how can we give them the thank-you card and sandwiches?" I asked. A variety of great ideas followed.

"Why don't we invite them into our classroom?"

"Then, we need to decorate the room!"

"How can we get them here?"

"How about inviting them with a flash mob during lunch time? And some of us will bring them later."

Somin concluded, "Good! Let's make three groups: Sandwiches, Decorations, and Flash Mob." I decided to join the Flash Mob. It seemed cool and interesting!

4번 지문

Thursday, May 30

D-1 Conducting the final check

It is finally tomorrow. Jiwon got the big card ready on which we wrote thank-you notes to the hidden heroes. Yeri and her group members tried several recipes and prepared all the ingredients to make delicious sandwiches. Some artistic classmates made a poster with a drawing of our special guests and put it on the blackboard with a thank-you banner. Our flash mob practice has entered its final stretch. We made placards for our performance and prepared chants. The biggest problem was me! Every time we practiced, I was so nervous that I missed the timing. I hope I can do it properly tomorrow.

5번 지문

FRIDAY, MAY 31

D-day Celebrating the Class Event Day

This was an unforgettable day! The flash mob we staged at lunch time was awesome! We were eating lunch as usual, so nobody noticed that we had prepared this surprising invitation. One by one we sprang up from our seats, holding up each placard, and shouted the words on it: "Thank you for making delicious food for us!" Then we delivered the invitation to the food service workers.

Two hours later, a few classmates brought our heroes. When they entered the classroom, they looked puzzled by the decorations. After guiding them to their seats, Jiwon gave them the thank-you card. They read the card and smiled brightly. They said "Thank you" and ate the sandwiches.

It was difficult to prepare this project, but we cooperated well, organized ourselves, and made it successful. More importantly, participating in A Day to Express Gratitude made me realize there are unseen people who help me every day. I will remember to express my gratitude to them from now on. My classmates also seemed to learn a lot from the project.

"I was moved when they thanked us."

"The little things we say and do leave a great impression on others."

"I thought it was a waste of time at first. Now I think we should try to do nice things for other people. It makes them smile, which is good for us, too."
